Black-Tie Hampton Manor Wedding | Nick & Lucy

A few weeks ago I had the complete honour of photographing Nick & Lucy’s Christmas wedding at Hampton Manor. Their wedding was a chic black-tie affair with a festive theme – think Christmas trees, plenty of candles and little nods to the groom’s Danish heritage. Just look at their amazing cake! They had such an amazing day which was packed with stylish details from start to finish. I loved their day and getting to spend it with their wonderful friends and family.

The Venue: Hampton Manor

Hampton Manor really does have it all! Not only is it a five-star cosy boutique hotel but it also has a Michelin starred restaurant, kitchen garden, cookery school and bakery. The style is cosy and welcoming, like a home-from-home. It really is perfect for hosting all of your guests for the weekend, and Nick and Lucy specifically picked this venue because they loved the welcoming feel. More importantly, they are both massive foodies so they knew this was the one immediately!

The Wedding Morning – Getting Ready

On the morning of the wedding, Nick and Lucy both got ready at the Manor. They had all stayed over the night before so there was no rushing around in the morning. Lucy was wearing a beautiful Essence of Australia gown, teamed with a sleek bun and beautiful pearl jewellery. Nick opted for a velvet tux which is just perfect for this time of year. Whilst Lucy got ready with her girls in the bridal suite, Nick got ready and enjoyed pre-ceremony drinks in the bar downstairs with his groomsmen.

Nick & Lucy chose to have a second photographer to join us for the day, which I would always recommend! You really do get to tell the whole story of the day with two photographers. There are moments are captured that you might not otherwise get to see with just one. The boys welcomed the guests before making their way over to The Birches, which had been decorated with beautiful Christmas trees ready for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, it was time to head back to the house ready for some family photos. It’s always important to choose a venue that you love just as much inside, as you do the outside. That way, in the event of rain, you still have plenty of options for gorgeous photos! Even though we were blessed with fantastic weather on the day, we chose to do them inside to really show off the beauty of the interiors. After some bridesmaid photos, I took the couple for a few moments of quiet and we took some couples portraits on the grounds and inside the house.

The Courtyard at Hampton Manor

The Courtyard at Hampton Manor is the most stunning backdrop for a wedding meal. Nick and Lucy chose to really lean into the festive, hygge theme and decorated the tables with tons of candles. I can honestly say, you can never have too many candles on your wedding tables! Firstly, they look so impressive, but they also give tons of ambient light for beautiful wedding photos. Nick and Lucy had a first look before all the guests entered the room. This is one of my favourite photos of the day! That moment when you get to see all of your months of hard work and planning come to life. I’ll always try to snap lots of details photos of your tables before your guests enter and the room is looking perfect too.

Party Time at a Hampton Manor Wedding

Finally, it was time for the wedding meal and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. All of their guests were blown away by the food. Just after the starters had been served, secret singing waiters burst into opera singing! It was a complete surprise for the bride and groom but it made for some amazing photos. After some heartfelt and funny speeches, it was time for the party! To make it extra special, the bride’s dad was even playing in the band! They kept everyone dancing all night long and it was the perfect way to finish the evening.
