I am so excited to share this beautiful and uber-chic Puglia wedding today on the blog! James & Chantelle held their wedding at the gorgeous Masseria San Michele nestled in the beautiful Puglian countryside, just near to the town of Martina Franca. Their wedding was packed with stylish details, and the day was completely focused on spending time with their guests and enjoying all the amazing food and scenery that Puglia has to offer.
Masseria San Michele Wedding
Masseria San Michele is a stunning venue, with its white and minimal buildings set amongst the olive trees. It has an effortlessly chic vibe, and matched Chantelle & James’s neutral theme perfectly. The courtyard provided a gorgeous setting for the after-ceremony drinks and the stunning gardens were the setting for their long banquet table.
Chantelle & James got ready separately, with Chantelle getting ready at the Masseria, and James getting ready at the equally beautiful Masseria Pavone just nearby. Chantelle and James chose to have a second photographer meaning both of their mornings could be captured. It’s such a lovely way to be able to tell the entire story of the day and I always recommend having a second shooter!
Their ceremony was held outside the on-site chapel, with the sun casting a golden glow over the guests and couple as they said their vows. They got married at 4pm, which I would advise anyone to do for a destination wedding to make sure you and your guests aren’t sitting in the roasting midday sun. The bride and groom provided paper parasols and welcome drinks for the guests to keep everyone comfortable!
After the ceremony the couple chose to have a select few group photos. I always advise to keep group photos between 6-8 groups and then a few bridal party ones after, to make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy your drinks reception. The guests enjoyed their drinks reception in the courtyard with drinks flowing and even a live mozzarella making.
Neutral Banquet Table Inspiration
The theme for the dinner was soft neutrals with natural elements. The al fresco dining set up was actually styled by the bride herself! Chantelle combined soft striped tablecloths, rattan napkin rings and these gorgeous Mrs Alice bamboo table lamps, to elevate the dining experience. Romy Flower Design provided gorgeous florals and the guests were all blown away when it was time for the wedding meal.
Couples Photos at Masseria San Michele
Before we went out to Puglia we spoke about the couple’s portraits and Chantelle & James both said to me they didn’t want any photos that were too traditional but still romantic. I think we totally nailed that brief with classic but editorial photos, that can be treasured for years to come. We used the white walls of the Masseria to create clean backdrops and the beautiful stairs in the courtyard.
A Party in Puglia
James & Chantelle had their wedding party under the stars in the courtyard of the Masseria. Trust me when I say that having a small guest list, does not equal a quiet party! James & Chantelle’s guests did not let them down and partied long into the night.
