This beautiful micro wedding at Wotton House from September was one of my favourites of the year! Michelle & Lance got married at the stunning Wotton House in Surrey, along with just four of their closest family in attendance. They chose a small, personal wedding with gorgeous details over a huge guest list, and I have to say I was totally won over by their fun-filled & thoughtful micro wedding!
Wotton House Wedding Photographer
I can totally see why Michelle & Lance chose this venue for their special day. Nestled in the Surrey countryside, Wotton House has the most incredible gardens which are beyond perfect for wedding photo opportunities! The Italian Gardens provide the most epic backdrop for outdoor ceremonies although if you’d rather be married indoors, the vaulted ceiling of the Old Library could not provide a more magical setting.
Wedding Ceremony in the Old Library, Wotton House
Michelle and Lance first had their legal ceremony, followed by a beautiful religious ceremony led by Michelle’s father. We then went out to the Italian Gardens after a champagne reception, turned on the tunes and had some fun family photos! Who says family shots have to be boring?! My top tip is to put on some of your favourite music and have fun with it. Lots of movement, dancing and laughing will always mean you get those precious family moments captured without it feeling too forced or stiff.
Wedding Breakfast in the Old Library
After some couples portraits in the grounds they sat down for their wedding breakfast, which had been styled so beautifully by Lynsey at 2 Little Birds Weddings! I was totally blown away by their gorgeous table, showing that small weddings can be just as impressive and Pinterest worthy as a big wedding! I was absolutely obsessed with the florals and the ceremony arch being moved to frame their wedding table. Floral clouds of gypsophila and hydrangeas were placed around the table, along with tons of candles which just added to the magic of the day. They also had an incredible cake from Louise Hayes Cake Design which I was so excited to see, having followed Louise for a while beforehand!
This beautiful day just goes to show you don’t need to have a huge wedding to have a beautiful day. Michele & Lance prioritised their closest family and details that were so important to them, which made for an amazing day filled with so much love and emotion!
